Postage and packaging philosophy and costs

UK postage is calculated and added to orders automatically -

we DO ship worldwide - but all overseas deliveries are charged at cost - which can only be calculated AFTER PACKING. You will be advised of any extra shipping charges via email

 

We are in a rural location, so our charges have to reflect our time, materials, and fuel costs. We use recycled materials for packing wherever possible to minimise these costs and save planetary resources.

In autumn 2012, Royal Mail increased the tariff on our small packets by more than 100%. This has forced us to increase our minimum postage for the first time in 5 years. 

We have to set a minimum SOMEWHERE, but 'very small orders' can sometimes seem disproportionally expensive. To compensate for this, at our sole discretion, if we feel resultant postal charges are higher than necessary, we will add a compensatory small free gift.
